~~~~Mornings are better when you have an entourage (and a copilot)~~~~
I admire efficiency. Like tidiness, it just makes me happy and content. This morning felt like a well oiled machine.
5:30 a.m. – cuddle with the dogs
6:00 a.m. – go through bills and mail from yesterday; check email; order medicine for Dave’s feet and new collars for the dogs (have a protein shake while working).
7:00 a.m. – Set up new needlefelting projects
7:30 a.m. morning chores!!! Chick proof the big waterer to avoid accidental drowning.
8:00 a.m. – declare war on oriental fruit moths and treat fruit trees. I mean it this time, I have seldom wanted to kill things more than I want to kill these bugs.
8:15 a.m. – attack the weeds on the back side of the elderberry and hibiscus fence. I don’t like to weed eat, but it is very satisfying to see things neat and tidy, even if it is only for a week. I have to trim the steps in the bee garden to make my way through it. Put the battery on the charger.
8:45 a.m. – while the battery is charging, zip out to collect elderflowers. Usually, I like to let them develop into elderberries, but I wanted to dry some elderflower this year for tea. Happily, Dave has made me a cup of coffee to enjoy while collecting.
9:15 a.m. – home and processing elderflowers for drying
9:30 a.m. – back outside for another 30 minutes of weedeating. That’s enough outside work today, it is topping 80 degrees already, time to work on indoor stuff!! I did stop to admire the garden before scurrying back to the air conditioning and some wool projects.
